Dr. Catherine Baker-Pitts is a passionate advocate for understanding psychological expression and embodiment as shaped by gender, race, class, sexuality, and social location. By invitation, she has spoken widely in the United States and internationally with her agenda to promote gender equality and to protest bodily violations. Her work is regularly quoted in mass publications.

She is represented by The Speaker’s Network. In addition to teaching at The Women’s Therapy Centre Institute, Catherine has been an Adjunct Lecturer at New York University in the graduate School of Social Work and in the Department of Philosophy. She is also a guest lecturer at various analytic institutes including ICP and the Gestalt Center for Psychotherapy and Training in New York City.

Catherine has spoken to thousands of students and provided training to counseling staff at more than 50 colleges and universities across the United States, including the following: University of Pennsylvania, Bowdoin College, University of Maine, Vassar College, Fordham University, Haverford College, Bryn Mawr College, Bates College, Clark University, University of Texas at Austin, Pace University, Fashion Institute of Technology, New York University.
